This course builds on our performance handgun course by offering a more inductive and exploratory learning style. Students will have the opportunity to shoot 2-3 stages with coaching that focuses on finding efficiency

This course is lead by BCS cadre Jake S. who is a Master Classified shooter in USPSA Carry Optics Division

Details:   Competition Handgun is for those who are already active in competition shooting (uspsa, idpa etc) or those looking to get into competitive shooting. This course builds on our performance handgun course by offering a more inductive and exploratory learning style. Students will have the opportunity to shoot 2-3 stages with coaching that focuses on finding efficiency. This course would also benefit anyone who carries a handgun professionally(ccw/mil/leo) as students are placed into task saturated settings that highlight the importance of processing information while shooting aggressively.

Start Time: 9 a.m.

Length: 6 hrs

Range FEE: $20 Due the day of course

Student Requirements & Prerequisites: Must have taken Performance Handgun with us or similar from a vetted instructor


We will focus on:

  • Movement

  • Shooting(speed &accuracy)

  • Gun handling

  • Stage planning

Gear list: Pistol, Rigid holster that retains handgun while moving and maintains shape when empty (outside the waistband, NO SERPA OR LEATHER HOLSTERS), stiff belt, 3 magazines (4 if you have 10 round magazines), magazine holders/pouches, eye protection, ear protection. 1000 rounds of ammunition

Recommended Gear: Shot timer

Additional equipment should be considered taking into account the season, weather, and personal necessities.  Dress appropriately, stay hydrated, and ensure staff is aware of any medical considerations that may impact training.  Consumption of food and drink is continuous short of impacting the training cycle.  In addition, bring a meal as there will be a 45 minute “working lunch”.

Registration & Payment:  All Courses require pre-payment at the time of registration.  All courses have a limited amount of students and courses are filled on a first-come, first paid basis. If the course is cancelled by Bull Creek Strategic, Inc, we will contact you to see if you would desire a 100% refund of your payment or if you'd like to be moved to a different time/date , otherwise your payment is 100% non-refundable.
